Greener solutions

Sustainable Heating & Hot Water Solutions

At PlumbExe, we believe that the best renewable system starts with the right design. Whether it’s a heat pump, solar thermal, or high-efficiency boiler, we put thermal efficiency and whole-property performance at the centre of every installation. The result? Lower bills, less energy consumed, and a home that’s ready for the future.

Right now, homeowners can access £7,500 in government funding through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. As proud partners with The Heating Geek—our MCS-accredited collaborator—we ensure every eligible customer can take advantage of this grant when installing a new heat pump.

Air Source Heat Pumps

At PlumbExe, we deliver expert design, installation, and servicing that goes far beyond simply fitting a heating system. With your EPC as a guide, we help improve the thermal efficiency of your property, so you can use less energy and save more money — no matter what heating system you have.

Our solutions work for both new builds and retrofit projects. We’re also Gas Safe and CIPHE-registered, and we partner with MCS-accredited local experts to ensure our customers can access the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme grants wherever eligible.

We’re also realistic: in many cases, an air source heat pump isn’t a viable option. That’s why we take a whole-system approach — looking at design, efficiency, and the right blend of technologies — to give you a solution that truly works.

Solar Thermal

Many property owners now choose solar PV, but for those with existing solar thermal systems, we ensure they continue to run safely and efficiently. Our service includes full inspections, safety checks, and ongoing maintenance to extend the life of your system.

A key part of this is monitoring glycol levels. We recommend draining and replacing the glycol every three years, as fluid left too long can degrade and turn acidic, leading to corrosion, perished fittings, and costly repairs.

When properly maintained, solar thermal remains an excellent energy saver, providing virtually free hot water throughout the summer—especially when combined with other renewable technologies.

Rain water harvesting

Rainwater Harvesting in Devon
Devon sees around 800–1,100 mm of rainfall a year in lowland areas and over 2,000 mm on Dartmoor — a valuable resource often left to run straight into drains. Capturing and reusing this water cuts mains consumption, lowers bills, and eases pressure on sewers during heavy rain.

With new houses and towns covering more green space, less rain can soak into the ground, reducing groundwater recharge and putting added strain on the water table. Rainwater harvesting helps balance this by making homes and businesses more efficient, resilient, and sustainable.

Trusted Renewable Partners

While we don’t install solar PV ourselves, we recommend our accredited partner Plectrum, who provide full PV design, installation, and servicing. We also collaborate with other leading renewable suppliers to deliver a wide range of sustainable technologies, including:

Whether it’s a home, rental property, office, retail unit, or commercial facility, we’ve got you covered. Our team is fully qualified and capable of managing everything from scheduled servicing and compliance checks to complex renewable installations.
